Mr. McConnell, who is profoundly unpopular among Republican primary voters, has mainly sidestepped the attacks, but his allies also have continued to assail Mr. Blankenship.
Claiming that Blankenship "can't win the General Election", Trump on Monday alluded to the U.S. Senate special election in Alabama previous year, where he made a similar endorsement. Attorney General Patrick Morrisey plans to call Blankenship's probation officer to confront him about the candidate's refusal to comply with federal law by not filing a personal financial disclosure. There's no mention of a race.
After trailing far behind Jenkins and Morrisey in polls, "he's back in the race and I wouldn't be surprised if he won".
Blankenship is running a scorched-earth campaign, attacking Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.
McConnell is married to Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, who immigrated from China to the U.S.as a child.
"I think he's getting bad information", Blankenship said. "In the Senate, it's fantastic how much more the Democrats are able to put aside their differences", said O'Connell. Democrats have their own intraparty drama that could portend what happens in November, which we'll get to. Nonetheless, Blankenship has surged ahead in the polls ahead of Tuesday's primary. This was going to be a tough race for the Republican candidate to begin with, Trippi added, but this primary fight means there's another unnecessary hurdle for the eventual candidate to overcome.
Nintendo under Investigation Due to Potential Patent Infringement
However, for now Nintendo is free to continue selling the Switch and the company is very experienced at fighting patent lawsuits. The complaint specifically references the importation into and sale of devices in the United States that infringe patents.
Jenkins told Fox News he's glad Trump injected himself in the race.
A Blankenship win could be disastrous for Republicans as they try to unseat Sen. Should the Mr. Blankenship however win despite the intervention it would be exceptionally uncomfortable to Mr. Trump.
And it's an all too recognizable feeling for Senate G.O.P. officials: at December, the celebration handed across the Alabama seat once held by Jeff periods to Doug Jones, a Democrat, afterwards nominating Roy S. Moore, a contentious former state decide that was enticed by a number of girls of earning advances to them when these were adolescents, allegations that Mr. Moore denied. Sure, Trump endorsed Moore's primary opponent - appointed Sen. "No way!" Trump said in his tweet.
The only calculation in Trump's mind is whether or not a person can win. The establishment is misinforming Trump, Blankenship told NBC Monday. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., in the general election this fall. Or the country. People now see winning as the only goal.
In this case, Trump's analysis is likely correct. He likes to be around them.
Trump's tweet on Blankenship starkly reveals both of those character traits.
