Moaning Mahrez may never leave Leicester if he keeps sulking

Mahrez's desire to leave Leicester is common knowledge, having handed in a transfer request - his second within the space of six months - at the end of January.

It had been previously revealed that the young english winger Patrick Roberts, now on loan at Celtic, was included in as part of City's £65m bid for Mahrez.

It is common in football to see a player on strike when the transfer window is open.

His return of eight goals and eight assists in 24 Premier League appearances this season is likely what attracted Guardiola to the wideman, particularly after the Catalan coach had failed to sign Alexis Sanchez and saw Leroy Sane pick up an ankle injury on the final weekend of the window.

It's seems pretty clear that Mahrez will miss the Man City game as the Algerian winger hasn't turned up for training all this week.

Pakistani Taliban claim attack that killed 11 soldiers
An officer was among those who died in the bombing, which was claimed by the Pakistani Taliban in an email to journalists. Security forces and police have cordoned off the area and a search operation was started to arrest the terrorists.

Simon Jordan says Riyad Mahrez should be made to keep playing for Leicester City despite his failed Manchester City move, and has called for the Professional Footballers' Association to take a stronger stance over AWOL players.

Pep Guardiola's side are now 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League after being held to a draw by Burnley at Turf Moor last weekend.

With Leicester and Mahrez's representatives set to hold discussions about the winger's future, the PFA has offered to mediate discussions between the two parties. They force a move to another club.

"I expect nothing. The most important thing is not to think about one player, but to think about my team and my squad", Puel said after Saturday's draw with Swansea.

What has happened has happened, however.
