Facebook-owned messaging giant Whatsapp has launched a new app targeted for businesses, known as "WhatsApp Business".

Those customer-facing tools remain, and are now joined by business profiles that display basic contact info such as a bio, email, address, and phone number (in the vein of Instagram's tools for companies). A feature known as "Quick replies" lets you instantly reply with answers for the most frequently asked questions. Statistics will offer businesses a chance to quickly review simple metrics. According to the news, after downloading this app, if you have a link to a YouTube video on your WhatsApp, you will not have to go out of WhatsApp to see it. YouTube videos will start running on your chat window.

WhatsApp is one of the world's largest social network platforms, with more than 1.3 billion active users.

WhatsApp Business is now available for free on Google Play in Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, UK, and US.

The company said it plans to roll out the accounts to other countries in the coming weeks, and eventually to have a version for Apple iPhones.

Account Type: People will know that they're talking to a business because you will be listed as a Business Account. On the flip side, if you want to get in touch with a company, you needn't download anything - just message them through the regular WhatsApp.

Business owners who decide to use the new app won't have to worry about their personal account. Interestingly, existing WhatsApp users don't require any special privileges to be able to contact businesses.

As of now the exclusive app for SMEs is available at Google Play Store. The application isn't that different from the original in terms of UI, but adds a number of business-related features to make interacting with consumers a lot easier than before. There is a version for iOS in the works, but there's no definitive launch date as yet.

The statement claimed WhatsApp helps over 80 percent of small businesses in India and Brazil communicate with customers and grow their business, citing a Morning Consult study.

Exclusive SMEs app is available in Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the US.
