He was the son of Nasser Jarar, a senior Hamas terrorist responsible for suicide bombings who was killed by the IDF in 2002.
However, the Palestinian ministry of health later said it was his cousin Ahmad Ismail Jarrar, 31, who was shot dead.
The Islamist group is also holding the body of Oron Shaul, who was killed during the 2014 war between Israel and Hamas. Two other homes belonging to Ahmed's uncles were also demolished and a third was damaged, family members said.
According to Wafa, the official Palestinian news agency, Jarrar used an automatic weapon to fire at the Israeli soldiers.

After the attack, Israel's military set up roadblocks, cordoned off Palestinian villages and deployed reinforcements to the area searching for suspects.
Hamas said in a statement that "the heroes in Jenin broke the equation of surrender that Israel has tried to impose on the Palestinians in the West Bank".
