HMD Global upgrades Nokia 6 smartphone for China launch

The upcoming device from HMD Global's stable was recently leaked in a TENAA certification listing and more recently by an online retailer who gave out some of the phone's important specs along with its possible launch date. The new model is also equipped with USB Type-C connector instead of Micro-USB as per its predecessor. There's no word on when Nokia 6 (2018) will be launched in India. While the Nokia 6 was a good phone with the 5.5-inch display, that aspect has not changed here but the company has chose to change a few things with the design as well as with the internal specs. While the rumors that surfaced in the past few weeks already revealed many of its specs and features, we finally know everything there is to know about the new model. The Nokia 6, quite understandably, was criticized by many for failing to leave a long-lasting impression as far as core hardware was concerned.

Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 8 both features a 16MP rear sensor with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF and LED flash, along with an 8MP front camera.

Nokia 6 (2016) is already up for pre-order on Chinese website "Suning". Additionally, the smartphone is said to borrow the Nokia 8's "Bothie" feature which simultaneously shoot photos from the front and rear cameras. If that wasn't enough, the phone also allows for live broadcast of videos shot using Dual-Sight on to social media platforms like Facebook. This year HMD Global intends to issue multiple communication devices - Nokia cell phone 3310 Android and LTE, as well as the flagship smartphone Nokia 9 Nokia and state 1. Bummer. The device will also run on Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box but will, of course, receive an Oreo update. The phone goes on sale in China on 10 January and is expected to reach other markets later in the first half.
