Harry and Meghan: Five things we learned about the royal engagement

Just four weeks after a blind date with USA actress Meghan Markle that left him "beautifully surprised", Britain's Prince Harry took his wife-to-be on a trip to Botswana to camp under the stars in his tent.

The prince, 33, and the "Suits" actress, 36, are expected to tie the knot in a ceremony next spring, according to a statement from Clarence House.

When Kate Middleton stepped out for her first official appearance as Prince William's fiancée in 2011, she wore a royal blue wrap dress from London-based clothing label Issa.

Prince Charles also said he was "thrilled", adding that Ms Markle's parents had given their blessing. The Suits star also said she's "very happy" about the engagement.

"The ring is obviously yellow gold because that's (Markle's) favorite and the main stone itself is sourced from Botswana and the little diamonds either side are from my mother's jewelry collection to make sure that she's with us on this insane journey together", Prince Harry said in an interview with BBC on Monday.

In September, UsWeekly reported that a source said that Markle had met the Queen and "it went well". "Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person".

Queen Elizabeth II, Harry's grandmother, led the chorus of approval for the couple, who the palace said got engaged in London in secret earlier this month. The pair dated for almost a year and their wedding will occur sometime in the spring of 2018, royal officials announced.

The film marks Salman's first collaboration with Remo, who has earlier directed films like ABCD and A Flying Jatt. The makers of Race 3 officially announced the entire cast of the film recently.

Harry and Markle, who is a divorcee, met in July 2016 after they were introduced through a friend who set them up on a blind date. "It's incredible. obviously not being able to meet his mum, it's so important to me to know that she's a part of this with us", Markle said, turning to Harry as she spoke about the ring.

"Now it's time to work as a team with you", she said as she turned to Prince Harry.

Ms Markle may not have been a familiar name in the United Kingdom until recently, but in the U.S. she was known for her role as Rachel Zane in TV legal drama Suits. Her father was a TV lighting director for soaps and sitcoms and her mother a clinical therapist.

Until recently, a union with Ms Markle would have ruled Prince Harry out of succeeding to the throne - due to her being a Roman Catholic.

They will marry in the northern Spring of 2018. The Church of England agreed in 2002 that divorced people could remarry in church at the discretion of the priest.

However, Prince Harry, like his brother, is likely to be made a duke when he marries, meaning Ms Markle would become a duchess. The ring, which was designed by Prince Harry himself, is made with one big stone from Botswana and two smaller diamonds from Princess Diana's personal collection.
