Two Republican lawmakers from IL have called on U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore of Alabama to end his campaign in the wake of allegations of decades-old sexual misconduct with a 14-year-old girl.

He has refused to leave the race and said on Twitter that McConnell was the person who should step down.

She said he finally relented and, as she fell or was pushed out of the vehicle, warned her no one would believe her if she spoke about the encounter.

In a statement, Nelson said that Moore attacked her in his auto after offering her a ride home.

A new report suggests that the Trump Administration might be looking at ways to appoint Attorney General Jeff Sessions to his old senate seat in order to quell the evolving controversy that surrounds Roy Moore. "These allegations are disgusting and I believe them against him".

"I though that he was going to rape me". In an interview Friday afternoon with Sean Hannity, Moore denied ever having met Corfman but said he may have dated at least two of the women who spoke to the Post.

Moore told the political rally that "there are groups that don't want me in the United States Senate", naming the Democratic Party and establishment Republican officials in Washington.

A new accuser said today that as a teenager in the 1970s she was sexually assaulted by Roy Moore in a locked vehicle, further rocking the Alabama Republican's race for an open Senate seat.

McConnell told reporters in his home state of Kentucky that party officials were considering whether a Republican write-in candidate could be found to challenge Moore in the December 12 special election.

She continued: "He finally allowed me to open the vehicle door and I either fell out or he pushed me out. Allred was the attorney who claims credit for giving us Roe v. Wade which has resulted in the murder of tens of millions of unborn babies", Moore campaign chairman Bill Armistead said in a statement released before Allred's press conference began.

"Roy Moore's wife Kayla writes on Facebook the campaign is gathering evidence the Moore accusers were paid to come forward - which will part of their lawsuit", he wrote in a subsequent tweet.

He declined to say if that someone would be Luther Strange, who was appointed to the seat earlier this year but lost the GOP primary to Moore.
