Thunder Charter Plane Lands Safely Despite Massive Dent in Nose

Several Thunder fans suggested the damage could have been caused by a bird strike - like this American Airlines aircraft damaged on its way to Dallas, Texas past year. The Thunder were traveling from a game in Minnesota.

Thankfully no one was injured, and the Thunder players can breathe easy and give a little thanks, as Carmelo Anthony did in his Instagram post.

The Thunder lost 119-116 against the Timberwolves Friday night.

The sportsman posted a dramatic picture to Twitter of a badly damaged plane.

The Federal Aviation Administration says most collisions occur during the fall, when young birds leave the nest and the cold drives migration toward warmer climates. It is believed that the plane collided with a bird during the flight, according to ABC News.
