Potential Tropical Cyclone threatens western Cuba with heavy rain

Tropical Storm Philippe has formed from a patch of gusty weather southwest of Cuba, and a watch was issued for coastal South Florida from Miami-Dade to the Upper Keys.

As of 10 a.m. CDT Saturday, Tropical Depression 18 was located about 170 miles south of Havana, Cuba, and was speeding to the north-northeast at 22 mph, the hurricane center said.

A tropical storm warning is in effect for the northwestern Bahamas, with a watch in effect for the Central Bahamas.

The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season, which has tapered off since this summer, looks to be readying another named storm, the National Hurricane Center reports. This storm should become better organized and will likely strengthen into Tropical Storm Philippe later Saturday. However we will continue to see periods of moderate to heavy rain through the evening-with rain coming to an end as we track past midnight early Sunday. The possibility of the depression strengthening into a tropical storm overnight is high. "Families in South Florida should pay attention to local weather updates and be alert for potentially heavy rain and flooding throughout the weekend". A tropical storm watch is in effect for Craig Key to Golden Beach, Florida as well as the Central Bahamas.

N'Golo Kante returns to Chelsea training ahead of Bournemouth clash
Conte has also admitted that Kante is "ready" to play but is adamant that he will not rush the midfielder's return. If I look at the past, I see it happened the same with the other managers.

Philippe's maximum sustained winds are near 40 miles per hour with higher gusts.

The KRIS 6 Weather team advises that this storm does not pose a threat to our area.

The storm is unlikely to cause a great deal of wind damage because it is forecast to cross the mountains of Cuba.
