Delhi Assembly passes Regularisation of Services of Guest Teachers 2017, Bill


As LG Baijal pointed out that the bill to regularise guest teachers was not within the limits of the Delhi Assembly and asked Kejriwal to reconsider the issue, AAP argued that the issue concerns education and not services.

Referring to LG's remarks, the Delhi CM alleged that the files relating to the regularisation of the teachers were never shown to Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also holds the education portfolio, by the officials on the direction of the LG. "As a responsible opposition we will not allow them to do so", he added.

The comment of Kejriwal was received with loud cheers and table thumping by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lawmakers at the day-long special assembly session which had been called to discuss various issues, including a bill to regularise the jobs of almost 15,000 guest teachers in Delhi now working on contract basis.
