No. 4 Penn State stuns Iowa with TD on final play

Kinnick Stadium has been kryptonite to Top Five teams, but the No. 4 Penn State Nittany Lions had Superman on their side Saturday night.

The Lions are going to have to get the ball down the field to the wideouts more, although a seven-catch day by the big, gifted Johnson is a sizable step forward. With Iowa spoiling Penn State title hopes in the past, expect the Lions to be extra focused to avoid having history repeat itself.

"I wanted to educate myself on what to expect". "I think at that point I caught myself saying, 'Oh my god, what was that?'" But truth be told, I'm such a big believer in the offense, in Barkley and in Moorhead to conclude that the impressive numbers we saw Saturday will lead to a lot of huge point totals and easy wins from here on out. I've asked a lot of questions. Their sidelines are very tight. Got to make a play, got to find a way.

"We've got to get ready for the noise". Penn State will not want to put this game in the trenches or this will look a lot like Michigan's trip to Kinnick Stadium when they lost 14-13, ruining their flawless season.

One thing Iowa is known for is its pink visiting locker room, created to have some sort of psychological effect on the opposing players. It's not a stretch to say Barkley could be better than all of those players before he's finished.

"I kind of dreamt about it".

The Hawkeyes are going to want to control the clock to limit the chances Penn State's offense to score if they have any shot and that is going to start with Nathan Stanley, Akrum Wadley and Co.to keep the chains moving.

Big picture, Penn State might have been able to survive a loss Saturday.

Half full: Penn State's offense put up huge numbers: 579 total yards, remarkably balanced (295 rushing, 284 passing), 29 first downs, 99 plays (to Iowa's 45), owned time of possession (39:39 to 20:21 for Iowa).

The clash takes place at Vicarage Road , kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 (GMT). We can win at home, away - it doesn't matter where. You could see the coach rotated five players.

4- Games in which Iowa has trailed this season.

Because he's the best all-around player in college football.

The one time Penn State seemingly had to have a yard and actually ran between the tackles - a fourth-and-one from the Iowa 43 with 5:38 left - Franklin called time, Barkley got the ball, the line got push and the chains moved.

"Just for it to happen, it's insane to dream about", Johnson said. "I don't know all the seniors in the country, but my guess is he would have been pretty high previous year". And Kutcher had the best, most telling reaction to the Saquon Barkley play.

Penn State still looks like a College Football Playoff contender. There's a reason why they're in the top five right now. They've got a really prolific offense.

The Iowa fans did their part by wearing either black or gold depending on what section they were in, creating a flawless striping effect in the stands except for those few vacant seats in the end zones and a small swath of white where the Penn State fans Saturday.

"Most importantly, we're getting turnovers and keeping people out of the end zone", Penn State coach James Franklin said.

Linebacker Cam Brown also is expected back this week after missing the Georgia State game.

The other three of those ended in a missed field goal, a blocked field goal and a punt. The two-point conversion failed when safety Troy Apke broke up the pass.
