iTunes 12.7 can be downloaded through the Mac App Store, or Windows users can head to the iTunes download page. It means the App Store (pictured below) and app library sections are completely gone.

Apple Pay has been upgraded to support peer-to-peer (P2P) payments through a new iMessage app, with transactions authenticated using Touch ID, or presumably Face ID on the iPhone X.

The change is now effecting only a small amount of users who manage their apps, however it may also come as a welcome change for users who have been frustrated with iTunes tendency to download iOS apps in the background.

The update can be downloaded via iTunes' software update feature. You'll need to re-download them.

With the iTunes version 12.7 for both Windows and macOS, quietly released during the keynote event in Cupertino, you no longer have access to the App Store on desktop as the focus is now on "music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and audiobooks".

When opening iTunes 12.7 for the first time, users will be greeted by an update prompt from Apple. When you swipe up, you'll no longer see the half-screen block with a handful of connectivity and utility options.

Native translation is also coming to Siri in iOS 11, which will support English to Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish at launch.

The new App Store for iOS 11 will have a new Today tab which will have original stories from Apple's editors from around the world talking about the newest and latests apps. By eliminating the ability to buy apps, iTunes has now reverted to being exclusively a media player.

iOS 11's revamped control centre is its most eye-catching aesthetic change.
