Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani, now a Rajya Sabha member from Gujarat, has been re-nominated for the other seat. "After ruling Gujarat for 20-plus years, if the BJP relies on the defection of a few Congress MLAs to stay in the fight for the 2017 polls, it says a lot about the party's "development" and "people friendly policies", Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee president Bharatsinh Solanki said. The current MLA from Naranpura in Ahmedabad, Amit Shah will contest Rajya Sabha elections to be held on August 8th.

Shah at present is an MLA from Gujarat, where BJP has a government. This has given new speculations that BJP might field a third candidate from the state and if that happens, the veteran Congress leader, Ahmed Patel might have to face tough competition.

Shortly after concluding the board meeting, BJP leader and Union Minister JP Nadda made the announcement. "Elections are going to be held on August 8". This would be the first time Shah contests an election to become a Member of Parliament.

Galaxy Note 8 from Samsung Hits Aug. 23
Also, it is worth noting that the update still doesn't bring the option to hide the navigation bar on these devices. The device is expected to be pretty similar to Samsung's recently-launched Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones .

The BJP hopes that it can ally with Shankersinh Vaghela, who has left the Congress, to get support from the MLAs loyal to him. The outgoing MPs are Ahmed Patel (Congress), Dilipbhai Pandya and Smriti Irani ( both BJP) from Gujarat and Derek O'Brien, Debabrata Bandhopadhyay, Sukhenduhakhar Roy and Dola Sen (all TMC), Pradip Bhattacharya (Congress) and Sitaram Yechury (CPI (M)) from West Bengal.

On the other hand, UP minister and Bharatiya Samaj Party president On Prakash Rajbhar too could raise his voice before the BJP chief as his demand for removal of Ghazipur DM was not yet fulfilled. The seat fall vacant due to demise of Union Minister Anil Madhav Dave.
