Samsung Pay now supports PayPal as a payment method

The two companies have signed on to allow USA customers to use their PayPal balance as a payment method within Samsung Pay wherever the mobile wallet is accepted, be it in-store, in-app, or online.

To use PayPal in Samsung Pay, all you have to do is sign in using your PayPal credentials in the Samsung Pay app. Moving into the next phase of new and innovative services for Samsung Pay, we are delighted to have MobiKwik on board as a partner.

Samsung has forged a strategic partnership with players in 18 markets including the US and Brazil over its mobile payment platform.

Samsung announced today that USA users will be able to add and access their PayPal accounts through Samsung Pay, online or offline. "Additionally, users will continue to benefit from Samsung Pay's unique value-added services, including gift cards, membership and loyalty cards". Samsung adds that through "Braintree, a PayPal service, merchants will be able to accept Samsung Pay as a method of payment in-app and online". "By making it completely seamless to accept digital wallets like Samsung Pay, we're continuing to break down the barriers to checkout for our merchants".

That's a huge win for Sony, Columbia Pictures, and Marvel Studios for the film, which cost roughly $175 million to produce. The movie, boasting an early domestic total of $6.9 million, once again scored a strong per theater average, or $11,200.

Customers will be able to use their Samsung Pay to access and use their PayPal wallet, letting them make a payment in millions of stores.

This move of Samsung and PayPal is profitable for both the companies.

The partnerships keep coming for PayPal.

Users can access their PayPal wallet right inside Samsung's app and spend the balance in places where they couldn't before.
At PayPal, we've seen - and helped enable - a major shift to mobile. "This partnership furthers our commitment to providing customers with a more convenient payment experience that is simple, secure and available nearly anywhere".
