The Root Goes to the BET Awards and Tries to Look Cool

Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has congratulated Nigerian act WizKid on his 2017 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award.

Aside from his future show-stopping set, Mars is nominated for five awards, including Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, Coca-Cola Viewers Choice Award, Video Director of the Year for "That's What I Like", Video of the Year for "24K Magic" and Album of the Year for 24K Magic.

The Ghetto Kids dance group from Uganda are in California, Los Angeles United States to represent their country and the East Africa at large at the BET Awards, later today.

Another exciting year and the 17th BET Awards are sure to entertain and enthrall viewers.

The show which will be aired on BET (DStv Channel 129) and hosted by stand-up comedian Leslie Jones, will have stars such as Mary J. Blige, Maxwell, Xscape and El Debarge along with some of hip hop's hottest talent including A$AP Rocky, French Montana, Gucci Mane, Swae Lee, Khalid and SZA and Kamasi Washington perform.

Yara Shahidi, Cardi B, Issa Rae, Jamie Foxx, La La Anthony, the cast of Universal Pictures' Girls Trip (Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Jada Pinkett Smith and Queen Latifah), Trevor Noah, Robin Thede, Cari Champion and Demetrius Shipp Jr. are all set to take the stage.
