Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant look to build a Warriors dynasty

The Warriors became the first Bay Area team to capture a championship at home since the A's finished the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the 1974 World Series. Previous year they lost the series to Cleveland.

The growing up of the Thunder has been one of the NBA's great stories in recent years, the Warrior's buying another championship and Kevin Durant selling out for one, is the worst story in recent years.

"I think it was a typical closeout game", Golden State head coach Steve Kerr said. No other team has odds in the single digits, a telling statistic that paints the picture of how top-heavy the National Basketball Association has become. Abdul-Jabbar was the league's MVP and scoring champion, averaging 31.7 points.

When CEO of Under Armour Kevin Plank called the United States president a "real asset" in February, the brand's most prominent superstar under sponsorship, Steph Curry, held nothing back.

What made them great: With a dominant inside-outside combination of O'Neal and Bryant, the Lakers stormed to their second of three straight titles, sweeping three 50-win teams along the way in the Western Conference playoffs.

Patriots, Julian Edelman agree to two-year extension
Edelman is assured of a spot in the Patriots 53-man roster while Amendola and Hawkins are expected to battle for the last berth. The 31-year-old Edelman is fresh from his second 1,000-plus yard season in nine years with the Patriots.

Curry had Durant to complement his game this time, to take some pressure off.

A year ago, these Warriors fell short after a record-setting season that included a 24-0 start and 73 victories at the end to break the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' wins mark.

Nash was coached by Brown when he played for the Lakers during the 2012 season. Even with all their talent it wasn't easy, as Boston needed seven games to beat Philadelphia in the Eastern Division finals and then seven more in the NBA Finals - the last going to overtime-to beat Los Angeles. "Everybody gets caught up in how he yells at the refs, but they never see how when he yells at the refs, two plays later, he'll get a charge", explained Webber, who like Green is a native Michigander.

Despite his incredible performance, the Golden State Warriors simply had too many weapons.

Citron, a Las Vegas veteran, noticed a change in the discourse at his book during the Warriors' playoff run. "And it just is tough for me because I know all the fight these guys have and how much they wanted to win". But this spring at the sportsbook at Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas, the newbies were seemingly all asking the same specific question: "Where can I bet Golden State and the over?" "And I did that from day one, and I just tried to stay with that".
