Aisha Tyler Kicks "The Talk" To The Curb … But Why?


The Talk co-host has revealed she's leaving the daytime show. It was already hectic, but now that she has an opportunity to direct her first feature film, she had to make the hard decision to let something go.

Tyler was visibly emotional while explaining her decision to leave the Emmy winning CBS talk show.

In addition to The Talk, Tyler is also a series regular on CBS' Criminal Minds, hosts Whose Line Is It Anyway? and lends her voice to Archer.

Aisha joined The Talk panel in it's second season in 2011.

Certainly, Tyler is going to missed on The Talk, especially since one of the show's biggest strengths since inception has been its ability to retain much of the talent that helped it become so popular in the first place.

She did say she plans on coming back as an occasional guest host and to promote her future projects.

Today during the daytime series, Tyler confirmed that she is departing the show.

"I have had an awesome six years with you guys", Tyler said to her co-hosts.

Besides working on three other series, including CBS' "Criminal Minds", the actress said she's found a new passion in film directing. She added that is what she wants to do the rest of her life.

When the 46-year-old announced the shocking news, she broke down and was comforted by her cohosts, including Sheryl Underwood and Sharon Osbourne.

Welp, it was fun while it lasted, but Aisha Tyler is done at "The Talk". "Throughout her six seasons, she has made incredible contributions and shared personal moments, making our viewers, cast and crew all laugh, cry and think, as a result of her signature with, intelligence and openness".
