European allies see the two sides of Trump

President Trump chose to ride in a golf cart while his foreign counterparts took a walk through Taormina, Sicily on Saturday during the Group of 7 (G7) summit.

Walking with first lady Melania, Trump waved to reporters as he went into the White House but made no comment.

Trump drilled in on every stop he made during the week on a trip that took him from Saudi Arabia to Israel and the West Bank, the Vatican, Brussels and, finally, Italy.

At a Group of Seven summit in the resort town of Taormina on the island of Sicily, Mr Trump pushed back against six U.S. allies, refusing to endorse a global climate change accord.

Trump told USA military personnel in an address at Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sicily that "you are protecting us and we will always remember that".

Despite the media's efforts to paint a strained or even no-existent relationship between President Donald Trump and his wife, the couple's affection for one another was noted in the Mail article. The Times, on one hand, believed that Trump's was "out of step" with his fellow leaders and, on the same day, Trump took to Twitter to state that he did not come to decision on whether the USA would remain in the Paris climate agreement.

But almost half of that speech was spent recounting his perceived accomplishments, from concluding an arms deal with Saudi Arabia (it had been years in the making) to forcing North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies to increase how much they spend on defense (a commitment they agreed to in 2014, under former President Barack Obama). "And I think we hit a home run no matter where we are", Trump said in Italy.

The president tweeted Saturday, "I will make my final decision on the Paris Accord next week!"

In their 123-98 beating of the Hawks in Game 2 of that second-round series , Cleveland scored those 74 points in the first half. It was a very welcomed sight in Irving's case, after he rolled his left ankle in the third quarter of Cleveland's Game 4 win.

Only five of NATO's 28 members meet the target: Britain, Estonia, debt-laden Greece, Poland and the United States, which spends more on defense than all the other allies combined. Once again, the President's associates' contacts with Russian officials hung like a dark cloud over his powerhouse diplomatic efforts - especially at this summit, where discussion of Russian actions will take center stage.

The White House says G-7 leaders had a "very robust" conversation before issuing a final statement giving President Donald Trump more time to decide whether to keep the the Paris climate agreement.

News that the federal probe had now reached Trump's inner circle broke soon after Trump touched down in Sicily, where on Friday he huddled with the leaders of six of the world's most powerful countries.

Within minutes of wrapping up his speech in an aircraft hangar, he climbed aboard Air Force One and was quickly airborne for the 10-hour flight home, his nine-day inaugural foreign trip done.

The Mail noted that when Trump took the microphone he called his first trip overseas a "home run". The White House is also assembling a team of lawyers to protect the President from potential legal troubles.

The president's trip has largely gone off without a major misstep, with the administration touting the president's efforts to birth a new coalition to fight terrorism, while admonishing partners in an old alliance to pay their fair share.

In Washington, though, a newly appointed special counsel is just beginning his investigation into links between the Trump campaign and Russian officials.
