The T&D Region is under a tornado watch until 11 p.m.

"Strong winds aloft will push any storm to the northeast at 35 to 40 miles per hour", Bragaw said. A few of the thunderstorms could become severe and be capable of producing damaging winds, isolated tornadoes and marginally severe hail. No serious injuries were reported.

The National Weather Service isn't predicting much of a chance of rain throughout today. The worst of the weather now is expected to affect regions further north, with the possibility of severe weather locally rising Wednesday.

Rain will develop into downpours and possibly strong to severe storms as the low-pressure system in the upper level of the atmosphere travels closer to northern Florida. "The National Weather Service said radar showed debris being picked up by a tornado in some different parts of the country". At 3:15 p.m., the weather service said a tornado was confirmed southwest of Prosperity and moving northeast.

Chances of showers and thunderstorms are 80 percent, forecasters said.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook report also released this morning said some thunderstorms expected this afternoon and evening could produce gusting winds and "marginally severe hail" through 9 p.m.

On Friday and Saturday skies will be sunny and temperatures will hover in the 80s.
