In 2016, when the Chicago Blackhawks player Andrew Shaw was caught using a homophobic slur, he was suspended for one playoff game, a bigger statement in many people's eyes.

The Anaheim Ducks will continue to be without forwards Rickard Rakell and Patrick Eaves in Game 6 of their Western Conference finals series against the Nashville Predators.

One more win and the Nashville Predators are in the Stanley Cup Final. After he scored his first career playoff goal, the National Hockey League concussion spotter asked him to go into the locker room for further tests. The Ducks and Predators have been tied or within a goal for 284 minutes, 38 seconds of the 319:49 played. John Gibson has given up 38 goals on 466 shots faced and Jonathan Bernier has allowed six goals on 63 shots.

An unassisted Austin Watson goal sealed the deal for the Preds in the game's final minute. And now they will be without Ryan Johansen for the rest of the Stanley Cup playoffs due to injury.

The Ryan Johansen injury was expected to be a devastating injury that could derail a series, but don't tell that to the Nashville Predators. He went 21-7-4 in the regular season and has appeared in three games this postseason. Rakell is their third-leading playoff goal scorer.

"Our fans have been great all playoffs", said Head Coach Peter Laviolette. "Obviously they have a major injury themselves, but we've got a couple of guys that are very key players for us as well. That's for sure. We've proven that time after time", Bieksa said.

Christian Leye, the Left Party's top candidate in the state, noted that "the Schulz train derailed in North Rhine-Westphalia". The victory for Mrs Merkel's party will now give her a boost as she seeks a fourth term in general election in September.

Despite holding a significant advantage at center, the Ducks failed to execute against the Predators and now face the task of winning consecutive games to advance to their first Stanley Cup finals since 2007.

"We can't risk him", Carlyle said when asked about Gibson's injury and his status for Game 6.

"I think Bernier has proven to us and to the hockey world that he's a quite capable goaltender", said Carlyle, who had Bernier for two years in Toronto. "He had a really good go here in the playoffs especially, and we were definitely going to miss him".

"At this point, we can't make an excuse", Wagner said. "We need to step up".

Pontus Aberg, who played only 15 games with the Predators all season, scored the victor on his first career playoff goal. Wilson converted a backhand shot of an initial shot from P.K. Subban.

The Ducks scored once in both the first and second periods while Nashville still hadn't managed to get one in. Brandon Montour penetrated into the deep slot for a wrist shot that Rinne could not control. Unfortunately, the Ducks could not convert on any of their power plays. Fisher has an undisclosed injury.
