She essayed the role of mother to Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt as well. In her career spanning nearly four decades, Reema, Bollywood's favourite mom on-screen, worked with a lot of actors in the Marathi and Bollywood film industry. Lagoo will be remembered for her roles in films like Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kal Ho Naa Ho, and television serials like Tu Tu Main Main and Shrimaan Shrimati.
Lagoo died of a cardiac arrest in the early hours of the morning at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. "She was complaining of chest pain so we took her to the hospital around 1am". She is survived by daughter Mrunmayee, who is also a theatre and film actor and theatre director.
Speaking about her contribution to Marathi theatre and cinema, Sonali said "Marathi theatre saw a different side of the actor, something more than her portrayal of on-screen mothers in Bollywood". Worked in quite a few films.
She played mother to nearly every major star and acted in some of Bollywood's biggest blockbusters. His character is reportedly inspired by that of Mahesh Bhatt's father.
Apart from expressing grief, Aamir Khan revealed how Reema Lagoo was involved in the Paani Foundation.

Reema's illustrious career was marked with roles that won her many accolades and awards such as Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Actress for Reshamgaath (2002) and Indian Telly Award for Tu Tu Main Main. Finally, when he was contacted later, Nath shared - "Firstly, I was at a place where there is no network, so I couldn't say my obituaries".
Arsheen Namdaar, who used to play Reema's granddaughter in the TV show Naamkarann, is equally shocked on this sudden mishap.
With a heavy heart, Mohnish further said that if Sooraj Barjatya made a film, and chose to cast all of old Rajshree folks again, they know that she won't be there and that's a sad thought. We worked together in several movies and every time that I worked with her I learnt something new. Her demise is saddening. "I will always remember her as a friend, a wonderful actor, a warm and loving person".
Rishi Kapoor, who co-starred with Reema in films such as ' Prem Granth, ' ' Shreemaan Aashique' and ' Henna', also attended the last rites of the actress.
