The Steelers weren't entirely forthright when announcing Le'Veon Bell was dealing with a groin injury late in the season, and Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll waited until after Seattle's year ended to announce Richard Sherman was suffering from an MCL injury. There is also the chance the concussion could have been during his four game suspension. On Wednesday Bundchen told reporters, "He had a concussion past year".

The NFL requires teams to list injuries to players and how it might impact their status for the upcoming game.

Whenever a player is diagnosed with a concussion during a game, that person may not return to the field for the remainder of the game, according to the NFL's concussion protocol.

Bundchen was responding to a question about comments Brady has made that she wanted him to retire.

Brady collected his fifth championship ring in February when the Patriots overcome a 25-point deficit in the third quarter to defeat the Atlanta Falcons in overtime of Super Bowl LI.

Brady hasn't missed a game for health reasons since 2008, when he suffered a season-ending knee injury in the first week of the season.

The Patriots said in an email Wednesday morning they did not expect to have a comment on the situation.
