Hutchinson had a goal coming into the weekend to show that she could run a leg on all three of the Penn Relays distance races. Last year's race saw a photo-finish, with 88 year-old Ed Cox edging out 80 year-old Donald Erickson by just fifteen-hundredths of a second with a winning time of 17.85.

Patriot High School's team of Lindsay Yentz, Aisha Brown, Rachel McArthur and Sierra Biber took second Thursday evening at the Penn Relays High School Girls' Distance Medley Championship of America in Philadelphia.

The 2017 Penn Relays will take place April 27-29 at Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania campus. The men's 4x100m relay quartet of Wyatt David, Ayman Mayberry, Kyle Oden and Peter Whiteneck then posted a time of 41.74 seconds to advance to the IC4A final, a season-best in the event for the Red and Blue.

The Ducks finished in 9 minutes, 32.61 seconds for their third victory in four years in the event.

"It's an honor", Piccirillo said.

"The javelin program (at Mifflin County) is really great and I'm learning a lot", Ciccoloni said.

Thrower Morgan Shigo, who became the first thrower in school history to clear 220 feet in the hammer throw, said all of the events have been dominant this season and, going into the conference championships, the team will be a force to be reckoned with.

Sam Prakel filled in for standout distance runner Edward Cheserek on the anchor 1,600-meter leg and outkicked a tightly packed Penn Relays field to lead OR to victory in the college men's distance medley relay Friday.

"It was there and I was really close when I was hitting my positions", she said. She picked off all but two of the runners in front of her, with tears streaming down her face the whole time.

With the ACC Outdoor Championships just two weeks in the offing - the Noles will host the Seminole Twilight next Friday - Braman stressed the importance of rounding into shape with the postseason right around the corner.

"When you come here you become a different being", Villanova head coach Gina Procaccio said.

Villa ran the 800 in 9:52.01. "So right before 300 my legs wanted to go so I just made a decision to sprint it out on the back straightaway and excel a little bit more every 50 (meters)".

"I told her you don't have to be just a 400 meter runner".

But no small part of it comes because of the push Buttner's teammates give her, and the tireless pursuit - on her part, and everyone else's - of the stars who preceded her at VU.

Nicole Hutchinson led off by running 3:21.39 in the 1,200, giving her a slight lead over Notre Dame's Danielle Aragon.

"It seems like I get the same question every time", she said. Buttner, who stayed on Cranny's outside shoulder for much of the leg, kicked with 200 meters to go and won by 10 meters going away.

Unfortunately, Hopewell Valley's Sean Dolan ran down Romero to move his team into third in 7:53.45, behind Oxon Hill (Md.) in 7:40.35 and St. Jago (Jamaica) in 7:48.74.

"It's not my best, but at least [my time] is consistently under 60 now", said Hoffman, who finished in 59.05 earlier this month.

Bills opt not to match Patriots for RB Mike Gillislee
Just a year ago the Patriots signed Chris Hogan to a three-year, $12 million offer sheet which the Bills declined to match. For the Bills, this means that they will likely have to find a backup running back somewhere in free agency or the draft.
