Canadian PM responds to Trump's criticism of dairy industry

Trump said it has put farmers in Wisconsin and NY state out of business. He also suggested bringing House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and other lawmakers into the discussion.

"Have a look at American dairy policy", said Easter, also co-chair of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group, on CBC's Island Morning.

The US dairy industry - particularly in Wisconsin, where some dairy farmers have already felt an economic impact - has slammed the Canadian practices as unfair and called on the Trump administration to take action. "Included in there is lumber, timber and energy".

President Donald Trump ratcheted up his criticism of Canada on Thursday, slamming the country for protectionist measures it has taken with its dairy industry that Trump says have negatively affected United States dairy farmers.

He will be featuring several hundred used records priced under $5, which he describes as "a crate digger's dream". One of the more well-known record stores in the area, Grimey's has two locations, both located on 8th Avenue.

Trump made his most critical comments yet about Canadian trade earlier in the day.

This is the second time this week he's gone after Canada's dairy-trade policies.

Canada exported about $113 million worth of milk to the US a year ago but imported $557 million, meaning a dairy dispute would hurt the USA more than Canada. "This is kind of like waving a red flag at a bull, the tweak we did with the unfiltered milk: it was nearly destined to draw a response". Canada carries a near $16 billion surplus when it comes to the exchange of goods from the forestry & logging, wood product manufacturing and paper manufacturing industries, according to data obtained from Statistics Canada and the U.S. Census Bureau.

Trudeau is anxious about Trump's protectionist talk and has repeatedly sent his ministers to the talk about the importance of the trade relationship. "We're going to have to get to the negotiating table with Canada very, very quickly". "This is another NAFTA disaster, and we're not going to let it continue onward".
