Glover will play a young Lando Calrissian.

J.J. Abrams has teased the Han Solo Star Wars spin-off film has an "amazing script".

"Michael Kenneth Williams is going from his hometown of Brooklyn, New York, to a galaxy far, far away", they revealed. Williams comes to Star Wars having played many memorable roles in both TV and film, including Omar Little in The Wire and Albert "Chalky" White in Boardwalk Empire, bringing charisma, humanity, and nobility to all his performances. His recent feature credits include Assassin's Creed and Inherent Vice. He was also part of the Oscar-nominated cast in "12 Years A Slave".

A new Star Wars villain?

Disney has confirmed Variety's report that Williams is joining the highly-anticipated film in a "key role".

It's a chance for those whose work and family lives don't allow them to stop for an hour to attend a full worship service. Mary's in Tuxedo Episcopal Church will take Ash Wednesday to the streets on Wednesday, March 1.

But will he face off against everyone's favourite scruffy-looking nerf-herder?

The untitled "Han Solo" movie stars Alden Ehrenreich as the infamous smuggler, alongside Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke and Michael K Williams.

Slated for a May 25, 2018 release, the Han Solo spinoff movie (currently in production) is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie) from a screenplay by the father-and-son duo of Lawrence and Jon Kasdan.

While Donald Glover's casting as Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo film was one of the illest things that we absolutely can't wait for, the cast they are assembling for this project has been pretty damn fantastic as well.
